Wish I was home!

Well, the ice storm did hit us last night and school was cancelled today for the girls, so they are at home with my mom and Jason(he did not get home until 5am this morning). I did get to sleep in and did not get to work until 10am, but man I wish I was home with my family. Oh well, I have decided since I am out I will go to the gym this afternoon. I have not gone all week and I am feeling guilty and weighted down (especially since Jon (my boss) just had me go pick up Chicken Express for lunch), but man it was good!!!!

Am I crazy?!!??!

Okay, I really need some feedback on this post. momstheword got me thinking about this from her post today and I have always wanted other's opinions on what some of my friends and family think I go a little overboard on. Here you go:

1. I pick mine and my girls clothes out on Sunday afternoon for the entire week. I will get on the internet and check the weekly forecast and write it down so that I make sure we are wearing the appropriate clothing. Then I will go to our closets and hang our outfits in order by the days of the week.

2. I make their lunches the night before so that all I have to do is put them in their lunch boxes and then in their backpacks.

3. My closet is colored coordinated.

There are a few more things, but I will leave it at those three for now. So please let me know what you think!!!!

No puppy!

Well, I did not get a puppy. He is not house broken and after talking to several people, getting a boy probably isn't for me. So I am back a square one and will start searching (it takes FOREVER) again when I get in the mood.

My sister and I took our kids to the mall Saturday so they could spend their Build a Bear giftcards that my dad gave them. He met us there and we had a great time. Mallory decided to get a pink monkey which suits her perfectly. Aubrey just bought more clothes for her rabbit she got the night we went with Payton and April. Emily got a bear and picked a Maverick's uniform for it. Emily and Hayleigh also found them each a dress to wear to their Valentines dance. I can't believe they actually wear formal dresses. I think it is a little crazy, but what do I know.

It is really cold today and they are saying we are going to have a major ice storm. Emily is getting out of school at 1:30, but I haven't heard anything from Aubrey and Mallory's school. I just plan on going home this afternoon, putting on my pj's and staying warm while watching The Biggest Loser. Since I don't plan on going to the gym after work maybe watching The Biggest Loser will motivate me to get on the treadmill. Who knows!!!

Anyway, those of you who live in the DFW area please stay safe and warm tonight!!! And I am sure we will all get to sleep in tomorrow!!!

And the decision is......

Well, it is not that easy!!! This is what the decision has come down to.....1. If Travis is potty trained, 2. he is still available Sunday after church, and 3. his owner will take $500.00 instead of her asking price of $600.00 then we will have a new member of our family Sunday afternoon. I really feel good about this decision. As I was telling momstheword I tend to over think things and try to figure out all of the rewards/consequences of doing something instead of just letting go (notice the song playing). I mean come on it is just a puppy, right? Well, not to me. It is really a "life change". Okay, I know I am being really dramatic, but to an OCD (at least that is what my husband has diagnosed me with) person it is. But I know Emily, Aubrey, and Mallory would love a little puppy and they would be so excited. So how can I say no to that (as long as the three things above are met....sorry it is my OCD coming out again).

And I have to give a huge thanks to momstheword, April, and Carrie for helping me make this decision.

I have a decision to make....

I have been wanting a miniature yorkie for a while now and Jason told me I could get one for my birthday. He has even spent a lot of time on the internet searching for one and has found one really close by. Great, right? Well no, because now I am having second thoughts. I don't know if I am just freaking out about the cost ($500.00) or the responsibility of having an indoor dog. I know we would all love it very much and enjoy playing with it, but does that all outweigh the whole taking care of it. I have never had an indoor dog and I think I am just a little scared. Anyway, I have to make a decision by Sunday. So if anyone has any comments I would love to hear them!! Thanks

New Carmera

Jason and I have been researching camera and we finally decided on one. He went yesterday to Costco and bought the Nikon D60. I am so excited and can't wait to use it. He is taking me out to dinner tonight for my birthday (since he has to work Saturday on my actual birthday) and I will try it out. We opened it last night and were overwhelmed. There were a lot of pieces and Jason asked if we just needed to wrap it back up and take it back. I had to promise him that I would read and figure out how to use it.:)

Great Wolf Lodge

Jason and I took the girls and two of my nephews to Great Wolf Lodge Thursday. It was a lot of fun, but very exhausting. We got there around 6pm Thursday evening and quickly changed into our swimsuits and went to the water park. We stayed down there for a couple of hours and then headed back to our room. Friday morning we got up and went and ate breakfast and was back in the water around 10:30am. Aubrey and Nathan probably could have stayed until it closed at 10pm, but Mallory and Issac were ready to go around noon, so we loaded up about 1:30pm and headed home.
















Saturday, we went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards with my sister and her family. My dad met us there and paid for the kids to ride rides (they were lucky Granddad offered because we had already told them we were not wasting any money there). After riding a few rides we headed to the exhibits and barns. Mallory just could not understand why I wanted to shop!!! I am telling you she did not take after her momma when it comes to shopping. She doesn't like it one little bit!!!!









Sunday, we went to church and right after church had a birthday party to go to. It was a lot of fun. It is always nice to be able to visit with our friends and their family. When we got home Jason wanted to measure where he is going to put Dixon's dog run and finish cleaning the fence line. So we help him do that and started a burn pile. Well, my girls can't have an outdoor fire without having marshmallows, so after dinner we roasted marshmallows to end out the night.

It was a great weekend!!

Holiday in the Park

Jason and I took Aubrey, Mallory and Jordyn to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags on Friday, January 2nd. The weather could not have been more perfect and we had a great time. Aubrey was able to ride several rides and really enjoyed them. We had to talk Jordyn and Mallory into riding a couple, but they had fun. Mallory would tell us she didn't want to ride something, but once it was over of course she wanted to ride it again. I think the cutest thing was when we were on "The Cave Ride" and she about jump over the sit to be with Jason and me.

Christmas with Dad

My Dad, sister and her family, and my nephew came over Friday night so that we could celebrate Christmas with my Dad. The girls got gift cards from him and Jason and I got a Food Saver. Man, let me tell you those things are the neatest and once you start using it, you can't stop. It is addicting.

Christmas Morning

Since Jason had to work Christmas Day, we had to wake the girls up to open presents. Of course, we make them wait until we get both cameras ready and then they can come see what they got. Jason didn't like were "Santa" left "his" presents so Jason moved them by the fireplace, but when doing so he switched the girl's ipods and man did Aubrey question it. She has already been asking "the questions" about Santa, but I think we covered ourselves once again!!!!!
